Certificate of Recognition (COR)
Complying with WorkSafeBC OH&S Regulations is the minimum safety standard for all employers in BC.
COR recognizes and rewards employers who raise the bar beyond these minimum standards and take a “best practices” approach to implementing a health and safety program and return to work program with their employees.
OH&S programs are measured (audited) against a standard and if they successfully meet the audit criteria, the employer will receive up to a 15% annual rebate on their industry base rate.
How to Achieve COR
Contact your industry safety association. If you are not sure if you have one or know that you do not, contact WorkSafeBC and they will advise you. For industries where no safety association exists, WorkSafeBC will associate you with one through a “natural alliance”.
Here are the current certifying partners:
- BC Forest Safety Council (Logging & Manufacturing)
